The lower part of the urinary system is made up of the bladder and the urethra. The bladder stores urine, which is created by an animal’s kidneys, when filtering toxins out of the bloodstream. Once the bladder has filled, the urine is then excreted out of the body, through the urethra. In some pets, bacteria can enter the bladder through the urethra and cause infection. This leads to sensitivity and problems in the bladder. In pets prone to these issues, providing additional support to the lower urinary tract can be helpful.
