Vitamin B12 and vitamin B9 are water-soluble B vitamins with important roles in normal cellular function, metabolism and growth. Low B vitamin levels can look very similar to other gastrointestinal issues. We would always recommend speaking to your vet practice for further advice if you notice: • Reduced appetite • Lack of energy • Weight loss • Loose stools • Weakness • Poor body or coat condition

Gastrointestinal issues can require a multimodal approach to get the best outcome for your pet, including diet, supplementation and medication. Some gastrointestinal issues can affect vitamin levels, particularly B vitamins, which may require supplementation as it can be challenging to increase certain vitamin levels by diet alone. Cobalamin is required for several normal cellular and metabolic processes and when absorption is impaired, additional oral supplementation can help increase and maintain blood cobalamin concentrations. COBALIN® capsules may be given whole or opened and sprinkled onto food for dogs and cats. • under 10kg - Half a capsule per day (or one capsule every other day) • 10-20kg - One capsule per day • over 20kg - Two capsules per day COBALIN® can be given over the long term for as long as advised by your veterinary surgeon. Do not change the amount or stop supplementation before follow-up testing without discussing this with your veterinarian.
